Jen Golbeck, a professor in the College of Information Sciences at the University of Maryland, explains the main danger of this phenomenon. A managerial position implies that the entity occupying it will make decisions that are enforceable. And there is nothing that can be done with such an AI, because OpenAI servers are scattered all over the country, and there is simply no one to punish for short-sighted decisions. In a “correct” reality, the AI should analyse the situation and offer options, while the decision is left to the operator, a living person.
