Google Chrome has become the world’s fastest browser

Speedometer 3.0 analyses how well web browsers perform on modern web applications by simulating real user actions. The effectiveness of Speedometer 3.0 is the result of a collaborative effort between IT giants Apple, Google, Microsoft and Mozilla.
Through tests, Google developers identified and optimised the features that took the longest to run. Among them are the SpaceSplitString function, string processing, stylesheet deduplication and others. The “rubbish collection” was also improved, adding another 3% to Speedometer 3.0.
