Diving and snorkelling banned at popular Phuket resorts

At present, tourists are not allowed to snorkel and flipper dive in the northern, eastern and western parts of Kai Island, off Dang Island and in the waters of Raleigh Bay. Diving is also completely prohibited in Yavasama.
In lieu of these areas, visiting divers are encouraged to choose other areas in the national park where the hobby is still open.
