Red Bull, a brand that supports extreme sports, has called on some of the best bikers and cyclists in North Wales to show off their skills at the Hardline race in North Wales. The course, which is made up of 28-metre chasms, steep ledges, water-filled ditches, rocks and roots, is one of the toughest not only in Britain but also in the world.

The race has a chance to be the leader for both fans of motorised bikes and those who prefer classic bikes. In 2022, Jackson Goldstone set a downhill record of 2:20.5 on a Santa Cruz V10.8 downhill bike. One of his rivals on this course was the experienced rider Johnny Walker, riding a Beta RR 300 dirtbike. It has a power output of 39bhp.

The Lotus Evija X electric car has become the record holder for the most challenging Nurburgring Nordschleife racetrack with a lap time of 6:24.047. This result is 10 seconds less than the previous champion Mercedes AMG-One. In the driver’s seat was Dirk Müller, who tried to “squeeze” everything out of this car.

The Evija X, a limited edition of 130 units priced at $2,300,000, took to the track with the production chassis configuration, but its suspension and aerodynamic system received significant changes compared to the base version. The hypercar is better pressed to the ground, reaching speeds of up to 345 kilometres per hour. The standard electric motors are powered by a 70 kW⋅h battery.

Hobbyist Rodmg has introduced a reincarnation of the iconic Winamp player in the form of a full-fledged physical device. The novelty offers playback of music tracks from an external SD-card or a connected CD-player. The developers claim support for MP3, MP4 and FLAC formats. More advanced features such as Spotify streaming support and Bluetooth accessory connectivity are planned to be introduced in the future.

The gadget is powered by a Raspberry Pi microcomputer with a 32GB SD card and is called Linamp. It has a horizontally orientated 7.9-inch touchscreen display, USB, Ethernet and headphone mini-jack ports. Particular attention has been paid to the housing made of millimetre-thick aluminium sheet, subjected to 3D surface printing. The device is designed primarily for those who used the original Winamp in the late 90s and are now nostalgic for those times.

The new version is many times better than the previous one – it is more comfortable, it has increased the level of protection and battery life, and the design has been improved. But the essence remains the same – it is a shield, which completely covers the user’s face, but has an external screen for demonstration of graphic images. So far, everything is reduced to the demonstration of emoticons, which can display a person’s emotions.

Startup Truest North Compass offers an alternative way of navigation for real romantics. Carl Smith, a former software developer for Amazon and Google, and now a writer, has created an unusual version of a compass. The main arrow in it points not to the north, but to the point, which the owner of the device will designate. For example, a home or a memorable place.
When you buy it, you need to set the starting point, but the compass can be reconfigured at any time. To do this, you will need to set a new value on the manufacturer’s website through a smartphone, and then bring the gadget to the screen. The one will start flashing in binary code and the compass light sensor will accept the command. It’s hard to say how convenient this method of orientation on the terrain is, but Truest North Compass is not a full-fledged replacement for traditional compasses – it’s a souvenir.
